Nearly 8 per cent of properties in Kensington & Chelsea are second homes with a total of 6,737 that cost an average of £1,175,608.
There are 6,431 second homes in Birmingham, costing an average of £149,503.
Over 9 per cent of all properties in North Norfolk are second homes with a total of 4,763 costing an average of £275,606.
Camden has a total of 4,120 second homes costing an average of £759,717 each.
Cornwall’s neighbour, Devon, also harbours a second homes hot spot – South Hams – which includes famous names such as Totnes and Salcombe where 9.7 per cent of all properties are second homes, the highest percentage in the UK
There are 4,074 second homes in Tower Hamlets, costing an average of £343,958.
Over 7 per cent of all properties in Scarborough are second homes with a total of 3,979 costing an average of £168,923.
South Lakeland has a total of 3,845 second homes costing an average of £265,434.
